Saturday 8 April 2017 had the club hosting a local beach clean in conjunction with Surfers Against Sewage.
A huge thank you goes out to everyone who helped out on the day. There was a fantastic turnout and it was great to see so many families enjoying the sunshine and the beautiful surroundings to help clean up our local beaches. Some of our litter pickers were very little but they joined in and helped us to clean the two beach areas in a record time.
The photo of the rubbish is less than half of what we collected. The rest had already been taken to the tip/recycling.
Sadly, there was still a lot of plastic and if you are wild camping in our area please take your rubbish home. A half burnt tent and cans, bottles and disposable BBQ’s were found among other litter items.
A BBQ at the club afterwards was just what was needed after all our efforts!
